Breathable fabrics

Clothing made from soft, airy materials such as lightweight cotton, linen, bamboo-type fibers, or fabrics designed to wick moisture.

Why it helps

Air flow lets heat and sweat escape so skin stays cooler and drier. That helps with chafing, heat rash, and overall comfort, especially in warm weather or when you move a lot.

Look for

  • Lightweight, loose weave
  • Soft feel against the skin
  • Moisture-wicking labels for workouts
  • Natural or blended fibers that feel good to you
  • Tags and seams that do not scratch

Avoid

  • Thick, tight synthetics worn all day in heat
  • Rough fabrics that scratch
