Last updated: October 2, 2026
The short version
- DermDad is for education. It does not diagnose or treat any condition.
- We do not sell your information. We do not show ads. We do not use third-party analytics or advertising trackers.
- You can use the whole site without an account.
- What you enter in the quiz stays on your device unless you choose to sign in and save it.
- What you enter is not part of any medical record and is not shared with any clinic or health care provider.
What we collect
Quiz answers. If you take the quiz, your answers (for example skin type, skin tone, general location, and routine) are saved in your browser on your device so you do not have to enter them again. They are not sent to us unless you sign in and choose to save your profile.
Account information (optional). If you choose Sign in with Google, we receive the email address and name from your Google account. We use them only to recognize you and to store your saved profile. We do not use them for marketing. Google's own privacy policy applies to your Google account.
Saved profile (optional). If you sign in, your quiz answers are saved to our database and linked to your account so you can get them back on another device.
Visit counts. To learn which pages are useful and which topics people read together, we count page visits. Each visit is recorded with the page, the language, the date, a random session code that is not linked to your name, email, or quiz answers, and how you arrived (for example, a QR code in the clinic). We also count when people start and finish the quiz, without recording their answers.
Feedback. If you send feedback, we receive what you type. Please do not include personal health information or contact details.
Technical data. Our hosting and database providers may keep standard technical logs, such as IP address and browser type, for security and to keep the site running.
Browser storage
We use your browser's storage, not advertising cookies, to remember your language, your quiz answers, and a random session code. You can clear this at any time in your browser settings. Clearing it removes your saved answers from that device.
How we use information
We use information to run the site, show content that matches your answers, restore your saved profile, understand which topics are most useful, improve the site, and respond to feedback. We do not use your information to advertise to you.
Who we share it with
We do not sell or rent information. We use service providers that host the site and database and handle sign-in, including Google if you choose to use it. They process information only to provide those services to us. We may disclose information if the law requires it.
Your choices
- Use the site without an account.
- Edit or delete your quiz answers on your profile page.
- Delete your saved profile and account with the "Delete my data" button on your profile page.
- Clear your browser storage to remove answers saved on your device.

DermDad is for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
