Our Story

I'm Dr. Raashid Haque, a board certified dermatologist with more than 25 years of clinical experience. I'm also a husband and father. Family is one of the most important priorities in my life, and it's a big part of why DermDad exists.

When our first child was born, I started looking closely at the skin care products we used, especially the ones for our kid. I wanted products without unnecessary additives, and I searched for natural and organic options whenever I could.

That search led to the first version of DermDad more than ten years ago. It began as an effort to share information about natural products, and for about two years we also formulated natural products of our own. Over time, that work lost momentum and was set aside. But the goal stayed with me: bring quality products to patients, especially products that fit their specific needs, and educate them along the way.

In the clinic, I focus on prevention. Knowledge and early, appropriate skin care can prevent problems that would otherwise need far more treatment later. Medication has an important place, of course, but I try to approach health holistically and look at the whole person.

Food and environment matter too. I encourage patients to build healthy habits, include anti-inflammatory foods, and limit pro-inflammatory ones. Sugar, processed foods, seed oils, and non-grass-fed animal products come up often in those conversations, and so does exposure to plastics and similar compounds in food and daily life.

DermDad exists to bring these issues to light and to inform and educate patients and anyone around the world who wants to improve their health. The site already covers many skin conditions, and it may expand to other health topics over time. The focus stays the same: helping people get the best health they can by taking care of every part of their life.

What I believe

When a person genuinely cares about improving the health and lives of those they interact with, they should give their full effort and sincerely offer the very best advice they can, the same advice they would want for themselves.

Behind every patient is a mother or father, a child, a grandparent. Behind every person is a story, with hope and happiness, and with tragedies and challenges they've overcome. If there is anything I can personally do to help you improve your life, it is my sincere goal to do it.
