Moisture-wicking socks

Socks made to pull sweat away from the foot, often from synthetic blends or merino wool, with some padding and a smooth fit.

Why it helps

Drier feet mean less rubbing, fewer blisters, and less of the warm, damp setting that fungus and odor prefer. They help keep feet comfortable through long days and workouts.

Look for

  • Moisture-wicking synthetic blend or fine merino
  • No bulky seams over the toes
  • Snug fit that does not bunch
  • Cushioning in high-friction spots
  • Cotton-free for sweaty or active use

Avoid

  • Thick cotton socks for heavy sweating or exercise
  • Socks that are too tight or too loose

Worth asking a clinician about

If feet stay itchy, peeling, or have a lasting rash, ask a clinician to look rather than assuming it is only sweat.
